By taking this opportunity, let me explain something about Myanmar
Traditional paintings. The classical
paintings in Myanmar lie in the style of
unique line system and simplicity of
drawing. It was derived from Indian culture
in Bagan era in 11th century. It
started as mural paintings. At that time,
Myanmar people used palm leaves as writing
materials and ancient Myanmar artists drew
sketches on the palm leaves.
In 14th century, Myanmar artists drew painting on
parchment, and it was called Parabeik
paintings. All these types of paintings,
every tourist may see at our cultural
centres, Bagan and Mandalay.
