Enchanted Terrace by artist KWK also known
as Khin Win Kyi
Arty Art Gallery
wishes Artist Khin Win Kyi aka KWK a very
happy birthday. The opening of her solo show
will be at The Arts House, Gallery on June
5, 2009 and will be opened for public on 6th
and 7th from 11am till 8pm. The show will be
continued at Arty Art Gallery where it will remain on view until
June 30, 2009.
KWK won the first prize for her first
exhibition held by Artisan Association of
Mawlamein College in 1972. In 1973, she
participated in Mawlamein (Mawlamyine)
College Art Exhibition, curated by Paw Thein.
She painted her Terrace series in the
syringe-style technique which is now
becoming popular again but at the time was
prohibited, so she used caked crème cone
instead of a syringe. Nowadays her
successful technique is acrylic-tube
paintings.
KWK’s works are expressive of her daring
thoughts, powerful brushstrokes, creative
techniques, and unique ideas. Private and
corporate collectors from around the world,
including the National Museum Myanmar and
Bank Negara Malaysia Art Museum & Gallery
seek her works have also been shown in many
local and international exhibitions
including Art Singapore 2007, Art Expo
Malaysia 2008 and will also be shown in Art
Expo Malaysia 2009.
In her new Enchanted Terrace series, KWK has
captured the beauty and peacefulness of the
terraces in the mountains of northern Myanmar saw found during a family trip to
China from Yangon. She was inspired to improvise new ideas based on
those magnificent terraces.
Khin Win Kyi said “The beauty of nature and
the enchanted terrace of my imagination you
may not see everyday will be seen in this
Enchanted Terrace.”
Her exceptional artworks are exclusively
available at Arty Art Gallery 55 Verde View, Singapore 688684. Prior appointment

Showcasing Acrylics on canvas 45 artworks of
“My Lady” series. The sizes are from 91x91cm
to 153x183 with the price range of SGD1500
to SGD 3500.
Artist Maung Yu Sein stated, “I have
been in the field of art since I was five
years old. I have dedicated myself to art
for about fifty years. Throughout my art
journey, I have searched for the beauties of
art, its philosophy and its nature.
As I am a human being, I have pondered
upon the family spirit in the community. Now
I have discovered lovely “Mitta” (compassion
or love) in the family spirit. It is of
great importance to our human society.
Naturally, the spirit of a “family” has
overwhelmed my artistic works. Realizing the
importance of family, I created and
displayed “Mother and Child” series in my
first solo show held at
New
Treasure
Art
Gallery in
Yangon in 2005. In this exhibition, I used
“gold” “white” and “black” representing the
beauty of lovely “Mitta” of a family. I was
admired by the viewers and encouraged by my
colleagues. Base on the idea that came out
of this show, I continued to create “My
Lady” series which is about the circle of a
family.
“My Lady” series has been created with
expression i.e (feelings and emotional of a
person rather than showing objects and
events in realistic way). Thus, it should be
called “Expressionism art”. As I created
this series with the use of modern outlook
and modern art, it can be said that it is
“Post Modernism”.
When presenting “My Lady”, I used
“white” which indicates “cleanliness, purity
and innocence”. “Black” indicates
“sincerity, strength powerfulness and
magnificence”. “Gold” indicates “loveliness,
brightness and elegance”.
While creating “My Lady” series, I took
time and pain in the choice of matter,
colours and shape so as to be modern art.
May all appreciate modern art!”
